In my first installment, I interview Ms. Bennett, veteran English teacher at La Plata High School.
Q: How long have you been a teaching?
A: 27 years
Q: What made you want to be a teacher?
A: I always loved school, and I wanted to be just like my teachers.
Q: What is the highest level of education you have?
A: I have a masters in curriculum and publishing.
Q: What were you like as a student? I.e. how was your school life?
A: I was a good student, and I was active in clubs like future teachers, student government, and the thespian society.
Q: What were you like when you were our age?
A: I had to take care of my younger siblings and have supper (dinner) ready every night, and I babysat around the neighborhood.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: I grew up outside of Pittsburgh.
Q: And where did you go to school?
A: For high school I went to South Allegany High School. For college I started at California University of Pennsylvania, and got my masters at McDaniel.
