La Plata is about to issue their 75th edition of the yearbook, a great milestone for not only yearbook but the school too. In an effort to get more students interested in buying the yearbook, a new type of media is being used. With the help of a new app, Aurasma live videos can be played throughout the book, or it can at least appear that the videos are. Aurasma is an app that lets you scan a page out of the yearbook and if there’s a trigger on that page, a video will play through your phone as it is held over the book.
Videos will be used for interviews of students and athletes throughout the school, as well as for different events. The videos for the events will make the students feel as they are in the moment. When a student’s being interviewed, they will be placed in front of a green screen, allowing them to merge cleanly into the book without it seeming awkward or wrong.
Aurasma is free to buy from your preferred app store, so there is no reason for anyone not to get the app. With Aurasma the possibility of what you can see and do are close to endless. With a new and fresh way to see the school, you can go through the yearbook with a new view every time you open it.
