Cake-face vs. Bare-face

By Archived Articles · On February 21, 2014

People have different taste, plain and simple. You cannot tell someone they are wrong for their opinion; because  it is their opinion. Your taste in music, movies, clothes, and just about anything may differ from other people. Your “type” may also be different. Maybe you like someone with a lot of makeup or maybe you like a more natural look. It is all about your own preference. I personally think women should wear as much or as little makeup as they choose, but sometimes too much makeup can make a person look fake.

A very big part of a person’s makeup choice is where they are going. If you are going to a special event, such as: homecoming, prom, a party, a date, or a wedding reception, it’s okay to wear more makeup than normal; after-all, it is a “special” occasion. If you are just going to the grocery store, furniture shopping, school, or basically anything low-key, wearing a lot of makeup is unnecessary. When it comes to things like that, wearing tons of makeup like you are going to a night club is a waste of money.

On the other side of this, a bare face does not work for everyone. Some girls are insecure with their natural face, so they try to cover their thought of imperfections with makeup; and that’s okay. To me, you should wear as much makeup that makes you comfortable with how you look, but you should try to make it tasteful. Tons of makeup has a way of making a woman look unnatural and almost superficial.

In essence, everyone is free to wear however much makeup they want. Want to wear a lot of makeup? Knock yourself out. Do what makes you happy. Want to wear no makeup at all? That’s awesome. I personally like to wear a moderate amount of makeup because I think that looks best on me. Whatever you think looks best on you, is good for you. It really doesn’t matter what other people have to say about it.
