The Charles County Fair only comes once a year, so make sure you don’t miss out! Whether you like animals, performances, contests, food, rides, or art, there’s something at the fair for you. Every September students get off on Friday to attend the Charles County Fair, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t attend. Get together with some friends or take your family and spend a day of fun at the fairgrounds.
Activities at our old-fashioned county fair include entertainment, four stages filled with games, shows, special events, live music, a baby show, pig races, pony rides, lawnmower racing, and a carnival. Every year GJ Dance Studio performs on the main stage and the Queen Nicotina competition is held on the small stage. There are martial arts performances and you can play tic-tac-toe with a scuba diver. You can learn about local politics by visiting booths. People from all over the county submit their artwork to the fair to be judged for a prize, and it’s all on display for your viewing. Many forms of entertainment are available for anyone who enjoys a good show. Although the rides aren’t as big as, say, Kings Dominion, there are still many rides and they are much more affordable than an amusement park. You are guaranteed a good time!
Anyone interested in details about the Charles County Fair can visit their website (www.charlescountyfair.com) to find something they are interested in. Anyone who has been to the fair already knows how much fun it is; there’s no point in trying to convince you, you’re already sold on the fair’s appeal. What reason do you have to say no? Do you really think you’ll have a better time sitting at home eating potato chips? You’d probably rather hurl a ping pong ball into a container and win a goldfish. Whatever reason you have to come to the fair is a better reason than staying home; come out and be a part of your community and have a good time.
